Got to use the phrase "Asatru pillaging ethic" in an argument about the Protestant work ethic. I am perhaps rather more pleased with this than I should be.

So what? It's an awesome phrase. My Norse pillaging ethic demands I steal it from you. (I'd say "Asatru," but I'm not. I can claim the Norse, though. Have the dubious pedigree to prove it.)

Those who might be offended, be advised that offense is not meant and that the author is well aware of How Serious and Not Funny the actual idea is. The author regularly engages in jokes that are Oh So Wrong, and would turn into a huge, berserk, scary barbarian should actual harm come to actual words. Or people.)
